Local Niche question

Hi guys,

I just finished reading the guide found on the forum on how to grow your instagram account + some other posts around here. But I am still unsure about aspect of our strategy and I would love some insight on the matter from someone with a bit more experience.

Currently, were planning on starting an Instagram account for a local company that is going to open in a month, give or take. The company is a membership model so we want to make sure to get as much hype going so that we have a nice number of starting members when we open the place up. Then hopefully word of mouth will do the rest.

The advantage of this type of company is that I can easily go to competitors near this company and have access to people following them on Instagram. Who are 100% my target group and live nearby my store as well. I wanted to just go to these accounts and manually ( mind you this isn't a huge niche, and accounts of my competitors are around 2k in size) and follow and unfollow the users. Just to get the word out that my company is gonna be online soon. We have a deal going that first month sign up will be free, so I figured I would DM that to every follower that follows us back. But I am reading everywhere that follow-unfollowing is not a very good strategy anymore and might give me negative effects on the account. But I feel like that based on the numbers and size of the niche were talking about...this isn't as big of a deal in my niche as it is in bigger niches? Am I wrong?

The account itself is fresh btw! But we are gonna post regular content on it on a decent interval.

I am hoping someone can shed some light if this strategy is a bad idea, and if it is what my alternatives are. I will try doing child-mother accounts but these seem to be more long term focussed while I need the initial hype boost ( I don't mind spending advertisment either but I think instagram doesn't allow my niche to advertise).

Following unfollowing hundreds of users on a brand new account is a recipe for disaster.

DMing all of them makes everything even worse.

Instagram has been constantly updating its security algorithm and will block you on the first day itself!

What else, then?

You've two ways:

1. Go slow, follow only a handful of users every day. Act like a normal user. Interact with their posts. And do everything manually cause public bots can be detected easily.
Increasing the numbers over time gradually as your account starts gaining authority.

2. Mother-Child Growth Strategy
Build smaller child accounts for your main account and run the actions on them. They will do all the hard work, run all the actions and send followers to the main account.
And even if they get banned, you wouldn't have to worry as they're child accounts and your main account is safe.

yes I would also use the child accounts strategy. much safer this way.

BTW this is soo true, Instagram evolved into something too human meaning f4f doesnt work anymore and its too robotic for human.
Better to behave like a real human being and try to go slow with everything
