Hi guys. I have been doing affiliate SEO for a while but now I am looking into alternative ways on monetizing SEO traffic. What I am interested for is finding a way to monetize local leads that are being generated from people that are looking to local businesses near them.

What I would like to know:
1) Is there a marketplace or a service that you sell the leads to?
2) Once you collect the leads, are you legally allowed to pass them over to a business if they pay you?

1. Of course. Go to offervault.com and find an affiliate program that has the niche you're dealing with. Even if they don't have the niche contact the individual companies if they have something similar, maybe they can work with your leads.

More profitable would be selling directly to the end user/business, but the affiliate companies are a fast easy way to start monetizing while you find a good client.

2. In almost all cases yes. There are certain businesses that do have certain requirements but on your end you are generally safe, they are the ones that have to stay compliant. Doctors have HIPAA laws. Lawyers and real estate agents can buy leads but can't pay based off of income generated. Some states contractors are supposed to put their license number on the websites.

I wouldn't really worry about these things. They are the ones that have to be compliant, not you. You aren't the licensed professional.

I am mostly worried about GDPR which is applied to business in Europe dealing with Worldwide clients OR Business outside of Europe dealing with EU customers. Do you have any GDPR experience and how it could affect Lead gen?

It's not something I would be worried about unless you're doing a lot of stuff in Europe. Even if you are just update your site with cookie notices and the other GDPR stuff. I have very little experience with GDPR but from what I've been told it's not that big of a deal.
