Hi there. For those of you who don't know, a local lead-gen business is the act of setting up a "business" in a local niche, like Dallas dentists, ranking it in the local listings, then selling the leads from it to dentists in Dallas.

This can be an excellent way to make money, as you can send leads to a business that also makes money. You both win.

The only problem I foresee is that a competing business not in on the leads could easily expose the fact that you are operating off of a faulty address.

Most people seem to rent virtual offices or local mailboxes. If this was reported to Google, I simply don't see how you would avoid getting pulled off the top 3 local listings.

Does anyone have thoughts on this or has experienced it?

    Thanks

That's if you depend on Google for leads...if you don't then this isn't an issue

and whose going to take the time to do all that research ? the dentists themselves ?

To be fair, the last people you want coming after you is Dentists...
