I'm trying to get a list of keywords in my niche, (weight loss/wellness) that trigger the google 7 pack. How would you go about doing that? I tried searching for a tool that tells you what words will trigger the 7 back, and the only thing I found recommended was places scout, which looks too complicated/expensive for a newbie...
Maybe its just common sense though.... It seems as though the 7 pack is only triggered by professions or things that could be a place. like profession- nutritionist or a place -weight loss center. SO would I just pull up keywords in the google adwords tool, look at the short tail general keywords with high competition, and then manually search them in google, and check which ones trigger 7 pack. Is that a sound strategy? Or will I be missing some long tail that might trigger the 7 pack?
Also of course, when someone searches keyword + (their city) the map will show. HOWEVER, when you put those city searches into the adwords tool the data is too small to show anything. Is there any other keyword tool that will show really small volume, city based searches? Because although search volume may be very low, it may be very good for a business to rank for city specific searches because those are people that really want to find your local business.
What is your strategy for local keyword research?
