Local hosting better than others?

I stay in India. I heard that, Indian hosting company will rank more compared to other's country hosting. Is that true?
Infact, I dont beleive it, but I need confirmation from experienced persons. Please help me.

Depends on. If you want to target european/US market, than not. But if you want to target asian market, than probably yes.

in my experience iceland hosting company must be better for hosting the website with excellent privacy.

Like others have said, your server needs to be where your target audience. Higher pings slow down others websites.

yaa some time less distant hosting engine help a lot in better seo.

Hi mate!
Indian hosting will get traffic from India and nearby countries.
But if you want World wide traffic than you have to use US or European hosting for getting more traffic.

I prefer only bulletproof hosting no matter it's which country.

If your target market is India than yeah website response times does affect your rankings so hosting in India will give you better response times since it's closer to your location.

There is no proof that this is the case. Besides, if it were true, the effect would be minuscule compared to what content and backlinks can do to your rankings.

If your curiosity persist, you can always do a test once you're ranking.

I would look for a local provider. Not for ranking purposes (although it couldnt hurt) but for speed, centralization, etc. Undoubtedly your site will perform better for your target audience.

Indian hosting company or USA hosting company does not make any difference in ranking of websites, who ever told you this must be a a noob. you can simply go to your Google Webmaster account and can mention there about your targeting country, that's it.

Yes really it is, ping time will depend on the location of the DC. But you need to consider about your sites traffic too. If the traffic is from India definitely you can go for Indian hosting companies itself, but if the traffic is from outside India then taking plan in India is not a good choice.
