Hello everyone,

I own a local computer repair business in my town and wanted to know if I should purchase a service that will give me 1000 backlinks, for starters. Currently, my website has no Google PR. I want to essentially have my site rank first page for users searching for certain relevant keywords within 50 miles. I don't care about any searches beyond that.

Does anyone have any pointers for this and any reputable (yet not expensive) backlink services?

I appreciate the help!

Quality, not quantity. 1k radom backlinks will do you more harm than good if you don't have any BL profile as is. Only buy links if you are OK with your site crashing and burning eventually. I suggest buying a/some aged domains that already have some metrics, point that to your site and do any link building on the buffers.

Thanks for your reply. Any particular way to find these kind of domains you suggest?
 
Get some local citations and get some reviews from customers. That'll help more than you know.
 
Domain auction sites. But, if you have are looking to do local SEO don't worry about links right now. Worry about citations and google places to start. There is a Local SEO section on the main forum that will probably be more beneficial for you.
 
Buying aged domains would not be an option as I do not have a lot of funds to drop on domains when I can't have a guarantee to rank 1st for local SEO. Any other strategies? I do have Google Places set up and already verified.
 
If you are going to get backlinks, make sure that they are all high quality backlinks. You would not want to bring more trouble to your page than what you already have. Also, having thousands of backlinks would not be useful if they are not suitable for the page that you have.

Forget all the "SEO" you think you know, and start reading about "local" SEO. If you are a real business in a real town, you need to promote your site to qualify for the local algorithm.

Local SEO is completely different than general SEO, you need to concentrate on citations, reviews, google +. google maps, on page seo, content marketing, and getting ONLY related (by location or niche) quality backlinks.

Backlinking a local business like an IM site will hurt a local business site. Real small businesses simply do not get thousands of backlinks, seldom even hundreds.

When doing the citations make sure that they are identical, and use the same Name, Address, and Phone everytime you make a new citation. If you use (xxx) XXX-XXX for phone numbers on one site, use it all the time, do not use that on one site and XXX XXX-XXX on another. Keep the citations EXACTLY the same. Also, give the citations source all the info they want. If they have room for 20 pictures and a video, give them 20 pictures and a video.

When you qualify for the local algo, and a local search term is used a for a search query, your site will rank above sites that do not use the local algo in that search, if everything else is equal.
 
Make a custom YouTube channel for your business . when viewer comments and any links you include in your description will have the rel="nofollow" attribute, YouTube gives you a link in your profile that is devoid of no- follow.. it gain traffic to your site....:)
 
Backlinks should be high-quality and relevant. Avoid services that trade backlinks.
3 Ways to Get Backlinks to Your Business Website

1. Article Marketing - Article marketing means writing articles in your niche and submitting them to article directory websites. Some sites let you put a link in the middle of the article. They're almost always happy to accept submissions, and you get a very good backlink from the exchange.
 
Techxan offered great advise. You should follow that doing citations the right way. I would also suggest a video channel in youtube targeting one keyword per video. Some good press releases will help also.

If you are serious about your business nothing is more powrfull then building your own blog network. That goes for local too. Rank above the 7 pack, or whatever its called.

Until you leave a footprint and the network gets exposed. Then your site gets banned. Typically, this is not good for a small business. Spend that time and money on link outreach.
 
Don't purchase 1000 crappy backlinks. You'll only hurt your website. Buil only quality backlinks from unique related content. Like web2.0s, guest posts, quality PBNs.
 
Yep, stay away from the 1k backlinks. Citations are a good starter (brightlocal is my preferred choice), then move on to more powerful links.
 
First of all i want to say that quality > quantity. Don't create backlinks on spam and low PR site. Create backlinks on those sites which are relevant to your topic.
 
Quality comes first before quantity - that's a white hat technique. However there are quality backlink services that are still affordable and won't harm you in the future.
