CASE STUDY #2

http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/black-hat-seo/374207-live-case-study-follow-what-we-do-how-we-rank.html

This particular case study is going to deviate a little bit from what we typically do and is also already about mid way through completion. This was requested quite a few times and I thought I would share it because we have never tested ranking INSIDE of youtube before. It has shown some success and we will be building more links to try and push it up further.

Part of the benefit of owning tools is we can put together a lot of different case studies to test out our theories. We don't mind sharing some of the info that we learn.

In the case studies below we wanted to see how easy/hard it is to rank videos inside YouTube search using only 100 high PR article links, dripped out at a rate of 10/day. These articles are across a network of PR1-6 sites, and have an average length of 500 words. The average site in the network is a PR3 and articles stay on the home page an average of 2 days. The content didn't relate strongly to the keyword being used.

We also tracked how these videos improved (or didn't) in Google. The rankings have stabilized for all of these case studies and we're now going to test another wave of links to see if we can't push them higher.

tl;dr - 100 high PR articles can get your YouTube video to page 1 or 2 most of the time.

nice information
First I need the high pr articles XD

Were the articles unique, or were they spun junk? And what article distribution method did you use?

Great man! I followed your first one, learned few stuff

PR articles stand for ?
I'm confused..thanks for the help !

Sorry about that... PR == page rank. These were all high articles dripped across our article network with an average PR of 2.68.

We'd generate up to 100 spins of a given article for 100 links. The article was only vaguely related to the keyword. For instance we'd do an article on yoga with a keyword of triangle choke. Or a back pain article for manhattan chiropractor. I'd say the quality was solidly average - not good or garbage.

Ranking inside of youtube is pretty easy and I've done it on a competitive term with just manual high PR blog comments.

The key is to get on the first page of Google itself. This will drive traffic to the video and people will leave comments. Comments and views as well as links are crucial to the youtube algo.

My best video is at almost 300,000 views now although very few of them turn into buyers.

Yup and congrats on your video.

Day: 12/08

- I made an article per video and spun it 100 times per article on HighPRSociety.com
- Letting articles drip at either 10 or 20 per day.

Asian Vengence
- Bouncing between out of the top 100 and #21. Not ranking the video inside Google.
- Dripping 20/day

Dallas SEO
- #1 inside Youtube. Not ranking the video inside Google.
- Dripping 20/day

Manhattan Chiropractor
- Bouncing between 3 and 4 inside YT. Bouncing between page 3 and outside of the top 100 in Google.
- Dripping 10/day

Manhattan Chiropractor
- Solid at #2 inside YT. Bouncing between page 2 and outside of the top 100 in Google.
- Dripping 10/day

Triangle Choke
- Bouncing between #13 and #23 inside YT. Not ranking the video inside Google.
- Dripping - 10/day

We'll wait another week before we assess what these links have done. If they still aren't ranking then we'll do another blast of either high quality articles or home page links.

What means this "Dripping 20/day"

So if you write a spin-able article and you spin one unique article into 100 unique articles. Instead of posting 100 that day, you can "drip them out" so that only 20 post that day, the rest stay in queue until the next day. Then 20 more will post automatically and so one. Make sense?

Quick Update

Triangle choke - #20
Manhattan Chiropractor - #2 and #3 still
Dallas SEO - #1
Asian Vengance - #1 for exact keyword. #20 for autocorrected one. (We built links to typoed version)

Just what I needed, I've just started my youtube campaign and I hope this would give me some insights :) From what I've been reading recently it seems that YT isn't as spammable and more strict then before. Does anyone have any 2 cent tips to offer? :P

Subscribed. Let see is this works as good as with the site on case study #1

Closing Case Study

So...It looks like the "Triangle Choke" video slowly worked down from 12 to 28 ( where it seems to of stabilized ) after the initial jump while all the other videos continued to move up to the #1 or #2 spots and stay there.
