Livable Alien Planet Finally Discovered

We have to explore first Mars and other Planets and Moons here in the solar system. There are many interesting moons here in our solar system that could possibly harbor life like titan and other Jupiter and Saturn moons. If we go to that planet now with our current technology it would take thousands of generation. I'm sure with rate our technology advances I think will have some inter stellar capability within 100-1000 years time. Assuming we don't have major setbacks here in earth like super solar storms, world war 3, 4 and so on or nuclear war, no eruption of super volcano, or asteroid hitting our planet.

Using a current NASA space shuttle it would take around 765,260 years to get there (that's at 17,500 miles an hour).

Using the fastest unmanned space craft we currently have it would take around 85,000 years (travelling at 157,000 miles an hour).

Either way it's obvious current technology is no where near advanced enough.

Makes you realise how insanely large our galaxy is though if this is considered close

You guys have no idea what you're talking about. First, the Space Shuttle is retired. It is meant only to orbit around Earth. The Space Shuttle can't go to the Moon or Mars because its design is unique to only stay within Earth. Radiation, fuel constraints keep it that way.

Second, the 17,500 mph is the orbit speed around Earth. It is not the speed limit of the shuttle. You have to apply orbital dynamics. A satellite at geosynchernous orbit (35,000 km from Earth) is traveling slower than one in Low earth orbit. However to escape Earth, you must exert a change-in-velocity greater than the gravitation pull of Earth. When going Interplanetary or Interstellar (in this case) you must overcome the gravity of the Sun.
You must exert a change-in-velocity (also called delta-v) of about 50 km/s. This is usually achieved by gravity swing-by maneuvers of larger planets like Jupiter, Saturn etc. Also, when you arrive to the planet 200,000 years later, you will also need to slow down which means you will need to decrease you velocity by 50 km/s or the difference between the two stars traveling. You can figure out how much fuel by the rocket equation. Usually its a fuel-to-payload fraction of 99% fuel by a chemical rocket.

Lastly, you will have to navigate in the vastness of space. Navigating to Mars or any other body is not a simple task. It requires extreme precision orbit determination. We are not even science fiction wise close to a solution. A nuclear rocket (wikipedia NERVA) is the only conventional concept that can work. Because it is the only thing with enough delta-v, payload fraction, and power to get us close to the speed of light.

Many wonderful things we used now is the product of our space research/ technology.

We not, there are billiions stars out there. It would take us gazilliions of gazilions of years to consume this resources and this is renewable given the time frame.

Yea saw that today on tv news they, estimate it will take 8 years till we have a telescope powerfull enough to see a close up,it opens back up the debate are we alone?

i know this doesn't prove that there's life out there, but it is kinda exciting. the thing is, since it's so far away we'll be seeing it as it *was*, not as it *is* today.

First off, who cares. It takes the space shuttle 3 hours or so just to get in earth's "Lower" orbit.

They can't go any further out than 200 miles or they would be crushed...yep, the whole Space Shuttle would be crushed.

2nd point. I've never seen a UFO, nor do I know anyone that has.

I've never seen an alien nor do I know anyone that has.

Conclusion? They don't exist. And we'll never travel at light speed.
