what kind of conversions are you seein, sine most of the pple looking for rapidshare downloads dn't wanna pay for something?
 
Is there a way for you to ping the different rapidshare search engines out there to get this moving forward faster.
 
What about building backlinks using this method? Put keywords into the file that you are using on your website and when all of the engines index your site you have hundreds of backlinks on autopilot. Or do the backlinks show up in google?

Google will kick your butt for that - from what I read, they've been smart enough to analyse for that sort of trick for several years.

How do you follow the success of this idea apart by number of visits - can you see the number of G search results for your page (esprcially if it's an internal page on your domain) rise? Or the number of links found by G or Backlinks-watch grow?
Tried it several days ago on a well indexed domain (over 40 indexed pages for over a month - btw only in G, both yahoo and bing ignore anything but the homepage). Saw no effect bu any parameter.
 
I've already noticed some gurus using this method.. LOL..

Yeah nice trick but these traffic will NEVER EVER CONVERT coz these guys r lookin for free warez@ RS..

Still traffic is traffic, yeah!

If you want to hide the link, don't use white text, use css.

.myLink{
display: none
}

or
.myLink{
text-indent: -9999px;
}

Do you mean literally the link typed out in text format with no live link or a live contextual link?

This could work if the site content was about free downloads stuff and monetized with ads.
 
If we don't care about the file itself or weather it's alive we could put any rapidshre url, not necessarily new or ours. Can we do that?
 
i think we could use the trick for iframed offers as well right ?
 
Well it will get you traffic but not very good one.
People looking to download it from a rapidshare site will surely not pay any money for it

i wouldn't do that if i were you .. unless it's a small website your doing it on
google will kick your but instantly.

remember the most important thing! google is smarter than you.
