Amazon isn't my thing, but I found a plugin that might be of some use to those of you who are missing out on international sales.
Code:
http://wordpress.org/plugins/amazon-affiliate-link-localizer/
So if someone from another country clicks on your affiliate link, it will automatically take them to their country's Amazon store, where they can make a purchase, rather than just taking them to your country's Amazon store where their account won't work.

Yeah already using this. It does work well, but is limited to taking the person to a similar product link, or the main search page. Since the item code is different for all items on the different sites. Still worth it though.

Isn't the case that you need to have account on the different Amazon sites?

To get credit etc...when someone is redirected to amazon.co.uk you must have an account with amazon.co.uk to.

No way, then I should have amazon accounts as many countries exist, which isn't quite practical.

Practical or not, it is advised that you sign up for accounts on ALL the territories you target.
Besides, it is a simple process, for example, when signing up to amazon.co.uk
simply add the otions for .de .fr. .ie etc... as well as the .com
and in that way, you will not be 100% dependant on using plugins to "hope" that they do the job for you.

just fyi, if you dont use affiliate tag for other countries
the maker tag will be used instead .. :)
smart trick

When you load up the stores through the API you will be asked to choose the store the affiliate links be pulled from. But this plugin should act as a backup I think.
