If you will only work on the google.de then you will not find many blogs, fourm, web 2.0 websites so it's the better approach that you can work on german and english niche related websites as well which will boost up the ranking of your keyword.

If you want to rank in google german, then try getting 80% of links from German sites, I know thats hard but its truth

Do SEO for your site as usual and your site will rank in German soon as it got very low competition, Google will automatically rank your site.

Looking at the "quality" of the replies to your question i thought i would be kind and give you the actual answer instead of some lame ass Yahoo Answers spun stuff

    Anyway rant over :D

Don't worry about GEO targeting at the link level. Just make sure your anchor texts are nice and diverse and you try and branch out the different ways of getting links. We're talking web 2.0's, comments, bookmarking, link swap with local businesses, maybe buy one or two tiered services from the links section. Just spread the love a bit on each type of method.

I'm the same as you except i target the UK for my websites, this is what i do:

    • Buy a .co.uk if possible (It's not a deal breaker though)
    • Stick the website on a UK webhost
    • Give the website a UK based address
    • Cite that address on all the local business directories and stuff.

Google is pretty smart with this type of thing. If you give them the right signals you'll do well on Google.de

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
