So I've been reading about litecoins for the past 3 days and I'm seriously about to pull the trigger and buy a few thousand dollars worth of them. I see them going down the same path as bitcoins in the near future. Of course I could be wrong and that money could be wasted but I think it's worth the risk to me.

Has anyone else bought litecoins? If so how much did you invest and at what price did you get them at?

Also are any of you mining them? I'm wondering if my money would be better spent buying something like the Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner that is coming out in a few weeks. Decisions decisons...

Don't know much about litecoins but a MSNBCFinancial Analysis says that the Bitcoin bubble is going to burst but another virtual currency is going to come in and take over as the virtual coin standard. Is there a limited supply of litecoins? I need to read up on them.

Nothing is certain except death and taxes however I have been watching them closely lately and I'm starting to see a pattern. It's definitely something to watch and I don't want to be late to the party like I was with bitcoins.

Litecoins are the poor mans bitcoin, many people do not know know that they can buy fractions of a bitcoin. They simply think that you can only buy whole bitcoins, so many are buying litecoins. Eventually litecoins will be worth almost as much as bitcoins before the cycle repeats.
 
Litecoins were $2 and even lower just a few months ago. I wanted to buy in on some but couldn't because I found it hard to jump through all them loops where random companies wanted your details. A $1K investment could have now been worth $15K. There are other crypto currencies out there and I've got a feeling some will follow and catch on. Most of them will probably die sooner or later but I'm sure there is money to be made if you have some cash and take some risks.
 
I was thinking exactly as OP that were late for bitcoin but we don't want to miss the bus with litecoin. Was thinking of buying for 2k$ and keep it for a couple of months. Any suggestions on when to buy?

I would recommend you only start buying when litecoin starts being used by actual services/companies. Correct me if i'm wrong but it seems that litecoins current spike in value is due entirely to bitcoin, that is, people felt like they missed out on bitcoins so are investing in litecoins, however if litecoin's value is dependent only on bitcoin/the media and no actual services/businesses using it, chances are the value will experience huge fluctuations and eventually deflate back to the value it had prior to receiving media hype.

This is the big problem about all new coins , no used in market , bitecoin get this value due used for years in deep web and now in many stores , if any new coins no look for stores to accept , die very soon .
