Hello!

I thought it would be a good idea to make a list with the best free/paid video editing software, since there are often relevant questions.

FREE

Lightworks (The Pro version costs $24.99/month or $174.99/year)
DaVinci Resolve (The Studio version costs $299)
OpenShot
Shotcut
Filmora* (The paid version costs $59.99, the Pro version costs $149.99)
HitFilm Express (The Pro version costs $299, the Studio version costs $497)
VSDC (The Pro version costs $19.99)
iMovie
Kdenlive
Cinelerra
VideoPad

* You can't remove the watermark in the free version.

PAID

Adobe Premiere Pro ($20.99/month or $239.88/year)
Adobe Premiere Elements ($59.99)
Final Cut Pro ($299.99)
Avid Media Composer ($23.99/month or $239/year)
Vegas Pro ($599 lifetime price or $140/year for the first 12 months)
Vegas Movie Studio ($49.99)
Magix Movie Edit Pro ($69.99)
Magix VideoPro X ($399)
Corel VideoStudio Pro ($51.99)
CyberLink PowerDirector ($99.99 lifetime price or $4.08/month for the annual plan)
Pinnacle Studio ($59.95)
Camtasia ($249)

These are the latest prices, so changes are likely to happen in the future.

:( I didn't use this before even a single software. I used camstasia only. Thanks for your list.

es, but you can do a decent editing on the free software.
But watermarking will come into the picture. we could start with them and can change it to paid if we are good at that.

I think watermark appears only on the free version of Filmora. I've used other free software of the list and there was no watermark left.

Great list, a few tips (According to my experience):

1. Adobe Premiere works best if used with Intel processors as it can take great advantage of the integrated graphics of Intel processors (Doesn't work with Ryzen APU's)

2. Final Cut Pro is the best of all. If you can't afford a Mac, go for a Hackintosh (Search Google for more info). Again, Intel processors recommended for a bug-free Hackintosh.
