Linux VPS question

I hit my comcast monthly cap of 250gb. I need to get some of these apps / scripts off my pc and onto my vps. The whole problem here is I dont have a windows vps, and im not the greatest at linux so I dont know how to accomplish this, any applications I should look for? Thanks...
