If I get a linux VPS from xsserver, well it be a GUI interface like when I use Ubuntu on my pc,or will it be command based? I'm a total noob to VPS,but I need to get one today for my new project.

It will be command based. You could install a GUI if you would like.

Here's a quick dirty tutorial assuming your running CentOS 5.x:

yum -y groupinstall "KDE (K Desktop Environment)"

    yum -y install vnc vnc-server x11-xorg

    vncserver

    pkill -9 vnc

    rm -rf /tmp/.X1*

    cd .vnc

    vi xstartup
delete twm at the bottom and replace with startkde
    save with :wq

    vncserver

Now just download TightVNC and put in yourip:1 and connect. You will have a GUI then.

I'm thinking about going with a windows vps instead. Since its unmetered, wheras the linux one only has 600GB bandwidth.
