linkwheel - what to do after?

Hey,

I have a linkwheel, for one of my sites, that was created about 2 months ago. Includes 25 web 2.0 properties, and they were social bookmarked at the time.

I was wondering does it make sense to do anything to your linkwheel over time? For example, update content on the pages? Do additional linking?

What do you do with your linkwheels? Do you build it, and leave it? Or do you make some sort of improvements?

Any advice appreciated.

Hey farking, I usually update my content..Social Bookmark everything..Submit rss, Ping, Turn content in podcast! Submitt podcast to directory's. then Build more web 2.0 sites linking off your first linkwheel and just keep going till you have a mass Net of sites.. if you can,, use a program to automate it all, I use senuke!
 
Did you see any improvement in your site's rankings after the first link wheel?
 
Build 10 decent backlinks from different IPs to each of the properties.

If that doesnt improve your ranking, then I would say it's worth trying to add content to a few of the properties as a test. If it helps, do it for the whole network.
 
Micallef, would you recommend building pligg links to the link wheel properties?
And what about Xrummer links?
 
Hello Farking, You have to get new content everytime to your web properties, do that on weekly / monthly basis.

Could you tell what 25 web properties you used to create linkwheel, thanks.
 
Auto-spam links are best used to supplementary web 2.0 properties, yes.

Pligg tends to be a weak source of links, they may not be powerful enough to get you anywhere.

Xrumer is appropriate for the job - if you can afford it. If not, comment on some high PR blogs manually.
 
What sort of Xrumer links would you suggest?
Profile links, or hidden links in "hi im new" type posts?
 
I've been blasting xrumer posts for my linkwheels in the title section as well as in the body of each post and they do the job fairly well. I just rotate the hell out of the posts but I may be too paranoid.

Micallef, I respect your opinion. Cost isn't an issue. But I've never used xrumer, I'll have to do some research on it. Right now, I do (or outsource) everything supposedly manually. I have a couple blog softwares that find high pr blogs for me.

You brought up my second question, in your post. Which is regarding IP's. I have 10+ websites at different stages of development in a number of niches (and some in the same niche). What is your recommendation with IP? Is this something that needs to be changed constantly, or is it insignificant? And do you have advice on how to easily change IP? Do you just use a something like hidemyass.com?

I never really understood the concept of "IP Diversity." How would Google know what IP you are using on these Web 2.0 properties?

i'm not sure either...but it's not the first time i've heard it.

i've attempted to research ip issues online, but i can only find websites that talk about ip issues regarding HOSTING sites on the same ip. of course, we don't host the web 2.0 properties at all.

Basically, IP diversity is just using different sites for getting backlinks.

Each website has it's own IP, so by using different sites, you are getting different backinks from different IPs.

right, but can the big G tell that you're are altering all the web 2.0 properties back to the same site, and penalize your for it?

none of the linked sites are hosted by us...they're free internet sites, weebly, hubpages, etc.

As of now, not really. The indexing of specific web 2.0 properties (all of whom are on different IPs) takes time, so the backlink development looks natural. Since it appears legit the matching content on the links will also be accepted as legit, and will act as 'votes' from the web to rank your site higher.

not really.

just use a bit of randomization etc to appear natural and you will be fine.
