seems like people always talk about building backlinks from social media or web2.0 to your own site.
how about building backlinks to your social media or web2.0 posts? (using e.g. web2.0 as my money page)

is it easier to rank a social media/web2.0 post since the root domain already has high authority (by building backlinks)? for example, building links to a fiverr gig?

Building backlinks to the social media posts would also help them index faster, I do it basically all the time. Send some little spam to shared post

- yes you can build links to a web20 and they rank well, this is sometimes called a parasite site and you will see some on page 1 for money terms.
- when you say "building links to a fiverr gig", I guess you mean using a fiverr gig to build links; yes you may find something on fiverr, but there are many other sources, fiverr is not the go to place to get links; you can even get some cheap links here in the marketplace.

i mean building links to a fiverr gig. each fiverr gig has a url.

Yes, you can do this:
Etc --> Extremely Hardcore Garbage --> Hardcore Garbage --> Classic Garbage --> Garbage Lite --> Mediocre Links --> Good Links --> Great Links --> Money Site

But you're going to get increasingly diminishing returns for each additional tier of trash. Way better use of your time to to basically anything else.

What if your content is removed by social media and web2.0s? You lose everything which is why it is recommended that you use your own domain as your money site.

this will not help you rank in any way.

explanations?

if that's the case, backlinks cannot help to rank hubpages posts/articles either?

i thought one needs to build backlinks to each individual blog page/article, instead of simply doing it for the root domain? each article/page has different contents, hence different keywords. i dont see how you can just promote the home page..

touche. but the risk of getting removed is offset by the easier posting and traffic. own domain can get delisted by google too.
