Links from .edu domains - worth buying?

I've seen some of my competitors with backlinks from articles on subdomains of big universities, ie here: https://businessreview.berkeley.edu.

I've seen some Fiverr/Upwork gigs offering guest posts in such directories and I know these in most cases are a lot more useful than profile links.

My question is: are those links from .edu subdomains juicy and worth the purchase? Considering the domain metrics, prices of around $100 seem cheap.

I'd highly appreciate your feedback!

So what is the best way of acquiring those links if you think Fiverr/Upwork is risky? In what way?

I've already mentioned prioritize quality over quantity. You'll get a several seller who're selling this specific service at BHW. Ask them for a sample, check out the review section & find out the best you want! That's it!
 
Absolutely not! If you don't know exactly where every single one will be placed it will be on guestbooks with thousands other links. Your domain will be guaranteed penalized.

Did a test, added quality backlinks manually, around 15, domain started good, added 2 Wikipedia links,, brand name top 3, other random competitive keywords around Top20-30, then bought an .edu link package for around $140... bye bye, at brand name keyword I have to click on "more results" lol.

But how about if I pick the place in which the guest post is posted, with just a link to my domain, instead of some crap page with thousands of links?
 
.edu links can be valuable, but be cautious. It's not just the domain extension that matters, it's the relevance and quality of the link. Google values natural, authoritative links. If those .edu links are from quality content relevant to your niche, great. But if they're just random guest posts on unrelated subdomains, they won't do much good and might even raise a red flag.

These links are beneficial. Regarding price, you can see bst on BHW and get idea about the price.
 
There are tons of instructions on how to find holes on .edu sites and publish your link there, all these sites are already in google spam database, on such sites your link will kill your site.

There are links with .edu from black methods, banned - they immediately give authority to your site, they are very useful.
On Fivver you will be placed on spam sites, you should never buy .edu links there.
