Links are up but Traffic is Flat

I have about 1.7 million links to my site. My site is old and I have never done any link building. I have about a million pinterest links. I also have unsolicited links from authoritative blogs, Wikipedia and Huffpost... but my traffic is flat and is a lot lower than it was a few years ago.

I know this is a very general question but why is my site not growing since my links are growing and my content production is consistent? What are the possible reasons?

if you look for social traffic it must be on active pages/ pins as well ...
 
Pinterest links are nofollow mate
And if you have over 1 million this mean spam = ranks down
 
Could it be that the volume of nofollow links is hurting me with Google?
 
But its not spam. I have a popular pinterest account that has been active for years. Some of my pins get 40k pins.
 
Have you looked at the traffic and what its doing when it comes to the site? You could have a ton of links but if people are just leaving your site as soon as they get there google looks at your site as no value so your ranking is not going to move up.

Having a million links doesn't mean you will get a lot of traffic.
 
Social signals alone can't help you to acquire the desire result. Improve your on page score, get links from other source as well like a guest post, pbn, web 2.0, submissions, infographics etc.
 
Where these 1.7 million links are coming from? If many of them come from low quality sites that has no traffic, there's no way anyone can come to your site (not talking about sites like Huffpost here). How much are you focusing on SEO and your own social media accounts?

1.7M GOD what did i st hear. Even it's old but no links and suddenly 1.7 it not looks like SPAM. It looks like a suicide :) . I am sorry to say but thats the truth. And most pins are no follow. I don't want to do a advice here to you cause it's not enough for you. Honestly. Brose basic threads and learn a bit before thinking about link building.

With that kind of volume of links there may be issues with anchor text, even if the majority are nofollow. I would get on a spreadsheet, move out the social links and see what you have left over, checking that there is a healthy amount of brand and naked URL anchor text. If not dominant then build up these kind of links/anchor text in your profile.

On the other hand you may have a lot of spammy links, which will need to be removed or disavowed.
 
Should keep the site traffic healthy & active by high quality link building content and active interaction (link added) on social channels
 
What services are available to make finding and removing spam links easier? I checked Link Research Tools but their prices are too high... $2799 per month!

I have done zero link building but I think I am the victim of a negative SEO campaign.

Google is listed second on my "Links to Your Site" with around 300k links.

Pinterest, Google, Polyvore, Web 2.0 sites, random sites and blogs in my niche. All of this is organic or malicious spammer activity.
 
Look for the well-maintained blogs in your Niche; build a good relationship with Bloggers to attain Do-Follow Backlinks. Your Social media accounts would help in convincing the bloggers for a guest post. High authority links from magazines will also help you in both ranking improvement and traffic increase.
 
Try to power up your site with some niche relevant quality links :)
If you go with spammy links ranks may go down than usual !
 
The issue is that I do also have hundreds of links from top blogs in my niche. One of the sites that naturally links to me has a well known print edition that has been on newsstands for over ten years. I don't have a manual action but my traffic remains flat or slightly in decline.
