As the title says really.

Site(s) are do-follow, yet when you look at their backlinks the 'do-follow' sites where their sites are listed are no where to be seen... whats the reason for this?

The link was listed in the site, then Google crawl the link and count it as backlink but after that, it was removed but Google system not re-crawl it :)

Makes no sense really, isn't the point of a 'do-follow' to be marked as a backlink and 'help' ranking?

Unless I've misunderstood... ???

At-least make 50/50 ratio of do and no follow links and just give some time to Google to crawl your backlinks perhaps it will take 1 month, so be patient and keep building more quality links.

The backlink checking tools will end up showing the links regardless of them being nofollow. The nofollow value is just there for the big search engines to leverage link equity.

If your tools are not showing those links and you have checked that they are alive, it's probably because they have not crawled them yet.

This. Don't worry too much about where links show up and don't, unless it becomes a big problem. They'll get indexed eventually.
