LinkPushing Case Study

I started a case study today for linkpushing to see really how it would affect my site. I put up the site and Greg put up the pushes. I also purchased Forum Post Robot to get some content on the forum. The content was added in less than 24 hours. It does not rank anyhow.

Here is what we are doing.

1. Domain registered on March 23, 2011
2. Hosting and forum installed on March 25, 2011
3. LinkPushing started today.
4. Used only the competition ranking in the AdWords tool for choosing the keywords. Of which 100 were chosen with a competition of .43 to .69.
5. We really wanted to treat this site bad so Greg put up 200 linkpushes for the study.
6. The site had a few links from Twitter and Facebook so Google was aware of it and as of today they had 558 pages indexed.
7. It is a phpBB fourm with the Black Pearl theme. Nothing else has been done to the forum. No mods are installed.
8. All the linkpushes are to the root of the domain and not the interior pages.
9. Lastly the site does not rank in the top 1k for any of the keywords. Not surprising since the forum was empty.

We chose this site to use because

a. it is a brand new site, less than 60 days
b. it is a forum and not a standard website or blog
c. even though the adwords competition is low, the on page competition can be pretty tough.

As I go through the keywords in order setting up the linkpushes, I have 100 keywords and so push 34 gets kw100, kw1 and kw2. I just roll back to the beginning and start all over with the keywords.

Tracking the ranking will be done using SerpAttacks and 10 private US proxies with 5 being in Georgia and 5 being in Pennsylvania. I wanted to be sure I always got the same results. I will be doing this on a weekly basis.

I have probably not answered all the questions so fire away. The one that I will NOT answer is what are your keywords or what is the niche? Sorry I may monetize this later down the road.

Are you only doing 200 link pushes? Is there a lot of competition? How far out are the link pushes going to be or is it all done at once?

We are doing 200 link pushes per month. One reason is to prove that it will not sandbox the site especially since it is new.

One keyword returns over 5.9 million results so yes there is competition. Manufacturers, retail outlets, online retailers, hobby sites and other forums.

The link pushes will be over the course of a month. This will hit every keyword 3 times during the month.

200 linkpushes a month? Damn that's a lot of a linkpushes..

Just to clarify - the subscription you're using is the 200 link pushes that is $975 on their site, right? Just so I know what I'd need to purchase to copy what you've done.

Anyway, I was thinking about doing a test myself so I'm really looking forward to seeing your results. The service looks like a great service for SEO.

Yes it is, we really wanted to punish the site. If I can't scrap the site with 200 pushes, that is a good service.

Are you going to use Adsense and/or affiliate?

Or are you going to rank your site, before you turn it into a money site?

This was created because it is a hobby of mine with the intention of possibly monetizing it in the future. I have not really thought about it all that much as to how I will monetize it if at all. Of course I would be dumb not to if there turns out to be a big following.

As far as the second question yes I will wait until it is ranked. I also don't want obtrusive ads on there either so it will be subtle.

Not too sure what you're referring to, or how 'push 24' relates to kw100, kw1, and kw2.

Sure not a problem. We are only pushing 100 keywords and at 3 keywords per push that leaves 1 keyword left when we get to push 34. The first 33 pushes were keywords 1-99. 100 is not divisible by 3 evenly.

On push 34 the keywords will be kw 100 - key 1 and kw 2

Basically when I got to the end of the keywords I started over at the top. so on push 35 it would be kw 3 - kw4 and kw5 instead of 4,5 and 6 like it was the first round. When I get to the end again this time there are 2 keywords left so the cycle starts all over again.

LOL. Yes I love it too. I have another site that got 15 pushes in the first 30 days with no adverse affects. This other site is actually newer than the forum site we are testing on. This month it will get 25.

Hi OP quick question are all pushes at money site? or will you be doing a few to the web 2's from previous linkpushes?

if it works i`ll surely use link pushing to get my site up in serps i`m not so sure miracles will happen with only link pushing but lets wait

All of the pushes will be at the money site. Not only that, they will all be to the home page and not any interior pages.

Stranger things have happened.

If a particular word does not rank well then the plan would be to run SB blast to the linkpush properties. After that, we will see what happens.

I fully expect that some keywords will have some difficulty. I love the linkpush service but even Greg will tell you that this should not be your only strategy. The problem comes when you mix all sorts of things together and you don't really know if one thing is helping more than another or if it is the combined effort of these items.

We ARE going to find out.

I really don't see it as abusing the service. If you look through the 46 pages of his sales thread you will see a reoccurring question over and over... Will this cause me to get sandboxed or deindexed.

Well that is one of the objects of this case study, that is to prove that it will not happen because of linkpushing. I believe that people get impatient and do other things that get the site smacked by Google. I have already proven with my other site that 15 pushes in the first 30 days of existence will not hurt a site. I registered the domain, set up the hosting and added the content. On day 3 the linkpushes started. This was a brand new domain with no age at all.

Now we are doing this with another brand new domain and I think we are taking it to the extreme for one site because of the cost which in total is a lot but each push individually is $4.88 per push. I don't think that anyone would do more than this to one site.

Think of the investment, say you had a CPA that offered over 10k payout and because of the ranking, you are able to convert 1 per month. I would do this push each and every month as long as the CPA held out. If you get more conversions then that is just icing on the cake.

So abusing, I really don't think so. If you think about the structure of the push you will understand why it is not abusing.

This is not just going to be a 1 month test either. We are looking at 2-3 months of testing. It all depends on how the rankings go.
