LinkPushing Case Study

I would think buying 200 linkpushes would get much better faster results than this. If not even one keyword is in the top 40 results in 1 month with 200, what results are normal people supposed to expect with 5-12?

Actually, if OP gets his test site ranked for his keywords, given that it's a virtually empty forum, it would be an incredible result. The main test, to see if it hits the sandbox, is actually the better test here.

OP, I like your test. I noticed you mentioned that the board is PHPBB and that the Ukranians were coming. Perhaps I shouldn't mention this on a Black Hat forum, but you should Google the phrase, "PhpBB3 MOD: Disable links for new users". It's a pretty powerful mod that you can use to very easily stop link spammers to whatever degree you want to. It's a lot easier than playing the "block the IP" game. I used it for a client, a church, that was getting hammered with spam. I turned the mod on high to essentially block all link-born posts, and 99.99% of the spam disappeared immediately. You can control how much or how little linking you're going to allow. Pretty cool tool, but bad news for black hatters if it catches on.

I do have one question that I haven't seen answered elsewhere (although I'm guessing someone asked it somewhere). How long does it take for a push to run, from beginning to end, including xrumor backlinks and linklicious drip?

LOL You are right about it being virtually empty... 1454 posts in total. I do now have some live users that are answering the auto populated posts.

As for the spam Russia and Ukraine are the biggest culprits. On my other sites, I see that all the clicks come from the US, Canada, Australia and the UK so I don't care if those 2 countries can log on to the site. I am not that up to speed to install the mods yet so I set the new users so that they can not use html or bb codes and an outrageous number of post required to enable that function. It is not a busy forum, obviously, so if I see somone that is real I automatically manually upgrade them.

I do no xrumer at all. Linkpushes run all month long and daily the new links are fed to linklicious by LinkPushing.net and 2 weeks after the end of the month they do their SB blast to the links so all I do is set the linkpushes and let it run. An individual push will last 24-96 hours from start to finish. I don't know how long linklicious takes to get them all crawled.

As for the site not ranking with 200 pushes, remember these all were directed at the home page and when you have a reply or post like "Thanks that was great info" there is not a keyword in site.

Oh, sorry! I should have said SB, not xrumer. Thanks for the details!

Dude, you spend maybe around $1600-2000 for the pushes (and maybe unique articles bought) and you're saying you dont rank???

You obviously did not read the thread and the purpose of the study. This is a forum not a web site there are no artilcles at all. There are only a total of 1400 posts on the entire forum.

There are 2 purposes to the test.

1. LinkPushing will not sandbox your site or cause it to be deindexed. Done!

2. We can rank a forum with this service. It's only been 1 month.

Most people would never hit something this hard and fast but this is being done for testing. We threw all the pushes at the home page where you have 1 line that has your keyword in it, maybe.

thanx for doing a case study, but i have to say it sounds strange from my perspective to spend $2000 on SEO while as it seems it has no effect on rankings???

I am not questioning the idea of your case study, but the value of the LP. So why would we buy LP if it results in almost no increase in serp?

You could ask the same question about ANY form of SEO. The answer is simple. SEO cannot replace content; it can only promote content.

This case study is fascinating, in part because of the sandbox part of the test, but also because if the SERPs do manage to change, it'll be something of a miracle BECAUSE the site has no real content.

Like the case study..would have preferred to see on a real site/blog rather than a forum, with seo work on the site itself as well.

There have been others done. Wannabe is doing one now with 12 pushes a month that is going well. If you look at my posts in the sales thread I do have a site that is using only LinkPushes to rank. I even posted a screen shot of the current rankings and that site is a week newer than the forum is.

We picked something difficult on purpose as everyone has blog sites. This was to test out the effectiveness on a site that would be difficult to rank for.

The test is not over so keep watching.

Been using LP for almost 2 months now. Using 17 pushes per month spread across a few domains and have seen awesome results already. The first month was slow, but month 2 has been eye-popping.

TNPhoneman, sometimes i wonder if you work with Greg on linkpush? Well i know you were one of his satisfied customers, but almost all your posts were all over linkpushing threads, so i just find it a bit weird :S

:D No I don't work with him on LinkPush. I can see how you think that but when I find something that works for me I can be the biggest cheer leader. Greg's partner is in Ireland and I am in Montana. Believe it or not, there are still some honest people out there. I am not some 20 something year old that has been doing this since I was 13, I just found this site this year after working successfully at SEO for 3 years. If someone says this does not work, they are either doing it wrong, the competition is too high or their site just plain sucks. For the purpose of this study, I would say the biggest factor is that the site sucks.

I also have touted Paper-Boy and his work but there is not as much to say about that and I only use that once a month. If the service I just got from ExtraWinner works as well I will recommend that one also.

When I quit learning about all this game, I will either be dead or hang it up. Just a couple of days ago I did a little change to how I format my articles because something just came clear to me so that I could understand it. People that provide the good service deserve the praise. Most people that I see complaining don't really understand how to use the service and I attempt to help with that. If I can get to where I can monetize the forum then that is a win for me and a win for Greg as to the effectiveness of his service.

You guys can take it however you want, I don't really care. It's too bad that so many have been ripped of that they lose all trust. I grew up in a time where our doors were never locked and the keys were left in the cars. Maybe I am being a little nieve or hopeful in the basic human but hey that is my problem. If all you ever look for is the negative, that is all you will ever find as you can find negativity anywhere you look.

i was just asking. I know linkpushing is a great service, although i still believe it's not as effective as it used to be, but the fact that im still using their service means i know it works.

I'm glad you're doing the study, OP, as I've said before. When do you expect to post the next update to your results? I'm anxious to see!

Wednesday is when I post the rankings.

I know how you feel. I grew up in Kansas and we were the same way. We didn't lock our doors nor worry about our cars. They were simpler times.... sigh
