Hey guys, 5+ years ago I used to post an article about my site on craigslist, which I felt kinda helped. My traffic would increase.

I'm wondering nowadays, will that help or hurt the search rankings, with youtube?

I'm linking to my youtube videos from my game development blog. But should I link to my game development blog from the youtube videos? I did on my youtube user account, added my website, but I'm talking about in the description for each video I link on my site?

    yay or nay?

Only get a few visitors each day but I just submitted it to dmoz, google, etc.

I upload original videos of my game development progress. I don't get that many youtube viewers, like 100-200 per week or so. I'd get more just reuploading other people's videos if page views was my motive.

I just finally enabled monetization, now I'm going back through my descriptions and cross referencing with google keywords tool.

So I guess I'm just wondering if linking from each video to my website is a good or bad idea? Or is it already linking as much as it will because I embed the videos on my blog?

    Thanks.

Also do you think posting on like CL is a terrible idea?

Yes placing a link of your site in your videos description will help with traffic and it is not the same as embedding the video on your site.

And no I don't think posting on cl is a terrible idea if it's getting you traffic

I think you should put the links in your video description of every videos. It will increase the visibility of your blog and increase the visitors.
    thanks

Thanks guys, I have 94 videos uploaded over 2 years. I should probably go back and update the tags and description with keywords from the keywords tool too. Some don't even have a description, I just upload progress on games I'm working on. I could probably bloat it up with "indie" and phrases that have high traffic in search engines. I just enabled monetization through youtube and wouldn't mind increasing traffic. At least set myself up to grab the low hanging fruit while I figure out where to go from here.

The site I want to link from the videos will have tutorials and stuff that hopefully is decent content people would read.

Another issue is I currently am using the same domain for a couple sites, like mydomaincom/gameblog, and mydomaincom/tutorials but I should probably make sure everything on that domain is related to programming, tutorials and games right?
