Hi everyone,

I have a website with around 100 pages (mostly review). Each article is targeting one KW generally and I rank almost all of them between 1 and 40 on G.
Thing is, my main KW is stuck on page 4 and I'm having hard times getting this one upper. Obviously, there is much more difficulty in this KW.
Each page/article linkback to the homepage with the header logo and through the main menu. I would like to know if I could get some benefit in adding on each of my review something like "If you want to know more about [Main KW/Variations of main KW] check this page", linking to the homepage ? Could it help ranking the homepage better ? I mean, there are already links to the home, but not with right anchors from menu and logo.

Any advice welcome !

Thanks :)

Valkurm, better not do that.
It's worked before, now it is very bad.

Is your home page ranking on 4th page for you main keyword?

Hi,

Could you please expand on why this is bad?

I have just done pretty much the same to one of my blogs.

I have used SEO Smart links to interlink all 1,000 posts on my site using an array of keywords/phrases for each url to other posts on the same domain.

However i have also created a large amount of contextual links to the homepage too from these posts!!!!

Can someone please tell me if this is a bad move, and if so then why please..

EDIT: i found an interesting discussion about this:

I would still LOVE to hear what BHW members say about this

Thanks for the reply.

I completely agree with you about interlinking pages/posts is good but specifically....

What about linking back to the homepage from within a page/post with optimised anchors??

In my opinion there should be a good diversification of links as well as keywords..

Yes, You should build some home page links with targeting your main keywords, But access amount of links to the homepage can affect your ranking in google..

You can target main page while doing link building through guest posts or anything, But again don't just target home page, You should also focus more on your inner pages as well.

Thanks for this however we're talking about contextual internal links, not external.....

I.e. A link within an article back to the homepage with a targeted anchor text!
