LinkedIn Mentions - Are they helpful?

Has anyone noticed any changes related to LinkedIn mentions? Do you get higher exposure or maybe more visits to your profile if you get tagged?
I got a few mentions on my company page yesterday - trying to understand if this bumps page analytics and can potentially drive more business. E.g. if I page to get 10 or 100 mentions daily will this be helpful;?

Might be worth testing that. If you've got a spare account for it, try and play around the mentions and see if there's any significant gain or otherwise. Hopefully, someone here has some experience related to that.

I think it positively affected search appearance, but I only had a few mentions done, not sure if that's directly related or if I simply had a better day.

I wonder how 100 or 10k will perform

Good stuff. Better keep tabs on it over at least a month or so just to be sure? You could be onto something good there.
 
I tried this technique, but accounts began to be blocked en masse
 
If you are talking about real mentions, i.e. not bought ones, I can say this:

Ultimately it does help you out, that's for sure. Because, for starters, you increase the likelihood that someone will click on the tag and check your page out.

Also, while I don't have any proof on this, it would be logical for the search to give preference to companies that are being mentioned.
