Aloha friends,

I apologize for the clickbaity title. But it did get your attention. :P

First off, are Fiverr & Upwork really going out of business?

Probably not, however, be prepared for a new sheriff in town.

Introducing...(drumroll)... LinkedIn Marketplace. Wow!

Many of you will have already heard about Linkedin Marketplace.

However, I didn't find a single thread on this topic here on BHW so I'm sure many still don't know it.

Let me explain.

With the Freelance-Market exploiting like crazy and growing in an exponential manner.

Linkedin of course wants to have its piece of the pie.

That's why they're creating a marketplace that combines core features of Fiverr & Upwork with their own spin to it.

And because this is a marketplace that is launching on top of Linkedin's platform, they already have more than 740,000,000 users!

Why should you care, you ask?

Well, with Fiverr and Upwork getting more and more competitive each and every day, there is hardly any money to earn with most niches being saturated.

So if you want to make it big as a Freelancer, and live that remote lifestyle you've been dreaming of, be prepared and get on this new marketplace ASAP.

As with any new feature launching from any SoMe-platform, they will push the shiitt out of it.

Now, how do we prepare ourselves for this?

First of all, establish a great LinkedIn Profile and already start connecting with possible clients to build trust and make yourself an authority.

Are you just starting out in the Freelance space? Great! Start building your portfolio by doing work for free for example.

Some tips our friend Neil Patel shares with us: (He is so genuine.)
  1. Set Competitive Prices. (Wow Neil, THANKS!) He is right nonetheless. Focus on the long term, start slow, build your reputation and slowly increase your rate.
  2. Optimize your website. As Neil states, "When potential employers view your LinkedIn Marketplace profile, it’s unlikely they’ll stop there." True. But. Don't make it complicated. Get yourself a free carrd account and create a simple one-page website that showcases your profile. Yay! Or go for Brizy Cloud for example (Only $40/YEAR I believe.)
  3. Start Promoting yourself. This tip is solely based to get more exposure from other platforms to send them afterward to your gig on LinkedIn.

LinkedIn Marketplace should be launched in September 2021 (3 Months from now). However, they will probably launch in the USA first.

Key takeaway, Linkedin Marketplace is soon coming so be sure you're one of the first to dominate this platform. & bank hard of course :P

Thanks for reading guys. Enjoy the rest of your day. :)
