Hi guys, I've created a blog with some content within my client's main website.

Will external linkbuilding to this blog (main page and inner posts) help with rankings?

If so, please advise the type of anchor text to use. I've thought of a few types below:
• Stick to main keywords and variations of them
• Use the blog name
• Use the title of a particular blog post (if linking to inner posts)
• Something else? Open to suggestions

Please advise. Thanks!

i mostly use the kw for internal link building.

Yes, you can always build links to blog pages along with homepage. This gives you the much needed diversification.

Generally you should always mix the keywords while building links. Long tail keywords will work too.

Sorry forgot to mention, I'm referring to external not internal linkbuilding.

Thanks for the input. So from what I gather it's pretty flexible.

Pretty much slow and steady is def working best for me at the moment.

you're talking about sub-domain blog here ?? If so, it is considered a domain itself and won't help other sub-domains or the root domain in terms of rankings.

Hi,

Here's my advice:

a) Use social media: Facebook, Twitter, Stumbleupon, Google +, etc.

b) Use the anchor branded (blog's name). Use blog's titles in a natural and varied way.

c) Analyze your competition. Where are they getting links? This can be an opportunity for you to get links.

d) Depending on the business - and if it makes sense - register on Google My Business

e) If there's budget available, you should really consider press releases

f) Reviews or paid reviews

Hope this helps!

Cheers!
