While I haven't tried building links to any Facebook properties, I've read of people sending some links to their Facebook pages, some claim it got the pages ranking.
Try not to consider link building on facebook as that of the typical linkbuilding. Though linkbuilding in facebook is against its community guildelines, as well as social signals has got lesser to do with search ranking.
