link with span class="sponsored" --> worthless?

I have an offer for a link on a very strong website in my niche. However, it would have this attribute in it: span class="sponsored"

Is this link worthless then in terms of linkjuice?

<span class="sponsored"> means that the text inside the <span> is apart of the CSS class called "sponsored." So, no, its the same as any other link. What the class does is allows the webmaster to apply styling elements to it, nothing more.

I second that; so the 'span class' has nothing to do with Google. Google will ignore this class; as it's related to your CSS file.

To be honest, I agree with the answers above.

However, the search giant is getting smarter... and with the new "Quality Update" that was released a day or two ago I think, it could be possible that it takes into consideration these type of "footprints" and seeing it as "Paid link" and not a quality editorial link.

Even if this is not the case, it might become the case in the near future, but this is just speculation and I think you should definitely take that link

Thanks mates. I heard that G does not like sponsored links but I was not sure how far they actually read this in the source code
