    Hi all,

Im noobie SE rankings, but decided to run some tests to see what I can make work.

Anyway I decided to test out a link wheel (using a service here) on my blog-(new domain with all in one seo plugin on keyphrase of 500,000 comp) to see what it could do.

A few days after listing,I was sitting at 55 and I was expecting it to go up- when it started going down.

Its now down to about 255 and its dropping about a half page a day?

( I was hoping to get onto 1st page not last page lol)

What am I missing, and what should I do about it?

    Cheers

    Dk

Build backlinks to your main site and your properties. You might try a few Xrumer blasts to accomplish this. You can't build PR (and therefore "trust", ie: serps) without juice. :)

    ok- thanks :)

Any minimums or maxmiums (links building)/ or other things to look out for regarding xrumer or any other back linking techniques I might try.

Im probably just going to look for a service (but get a good understanding of it) as its faster than learning the technical details of doing it right now.

    Cheers

    Ok-Cheers

So to keep my page up in the rankings I need a system for-

    -Automated Book marking
    -Posting comments
    -Backlinking
    -Posting articles

The top 4 sites on this keyword phrase are just simple sites which dont look like they have had a content change in years? (and straight to their sales page) Why are they running so high without all the active website fuss?

    Thanks

    Dk

How old is your domain? The age can have a lot to do with it. If your domain is new it will take some time for Google to take it seriously. Just keep building links to your site and and adding content every few days. I have posts that are nothing more than a paragraph and a video clip and it takes about 5 minutes to put up and I'm done. The best part is Google sees new content and keeps coming back and those simple posts get indexed very quickly.

    • is youre website a growing or is it static? statis website move far less then growing
    • How are your backlinks? More backlink you have the better youll be
    • Is your current backlink the organic or a sudden increase ? Google will mess with your ranking if they think somthing shady is going on.
    • How old is the domain ? Mass growth on a brand new domain is often penalize, if not sandboxed

Domains new only 3 months old-
I add new articles- all unique mostly at a rate about 3 at a time every couple weeks, but can increase that.

My site is growing, Ive got about 20 unqiue articles in it, and more to come.
Not sure about my back links- so far Ive got a link wheel with 24 propertys, and just been submitted to 600 directorys and 100 book marks- to fast maybe? how do I get the service providers (guys who did it for me) to do this correctly if its too fast?
My domain is about 3 months old

    Thoughts?

    Thanks

I don't know about that domain age stuff. I have a domain that ranks #5 with 2.5M results. I built the site in a day and it was ranked #9 practically overnight. I haven't touched it in almost a year and it is still there. I have another domain that is over 10 years old and is the exact keyword.com for the search term and I can't find a single page in G. I think it has more to do with the number of combinations and permutations that your keyword(s) is used. If you use the keyword tool and select synonyms it will give you a list of other keywords that relate to yours or use yours in a different way. Then take a look at all those results, you have to beat these too! So you have to get your specific keyword in your domain, the shorter the better, build backlinks that relate to your keyword, do the proper SEO like H1 tags etc, and get some 2.0 properties pointing to your site like squidoo, hubpages etc. Create some of those and have them point to your site, hit some pinglists, add a blog to your domain and add some comments to it on a daily basis, hit up yahoo answers too and add your link to answers that relate to your site. Try G's sidewiki too. You can add your link in your comments relating to your keywords, it has some serious weight.

If you have the fund you can hire someone on oDesk to do this stuff for you. You can get someone there to do this at $2-5 per hour.

I use caffeinated content to create new content. I set the date to each date of the month. So it posts a yahoo answer every day. It uses a markov thing, so it changes the text, but the text isn't very readable. I hide the posts in wordpress so people can't read them.
