The basic idea of link wheels is to create a pattern of links which flow from one website to another which would finally link to a targeted website requiring promotion. Try squidoo, tumblr, hubpages, weebley. You can add your article post to these sites and connect each through hyperlink

There are lot of patterns available, but you need to create careful open wheel that have more diversity to safe from updates

One great way to get a ton of traffic to your websites is to build a link wheel. These link wheels build back links to your websites main page, which gives your website higher search engine ranking.
Quality ones do. But not as much as before
A link wheel:
Your site links to website 1
Website 1 links to website 2
Website 2 links to video 3
Video 3 links to web 2.0 site
Web 2.0 site links to your site.
Thats basically a link wheel. i dont do link wheels, id just make all those sites point to my main site, and build eat site. But thats just me

Link wheel is the the process of creating back links that will target to the next website and the link in that website again target to the next website. At the end the last website link target to the very first website. This all process creates the the process like in circle.

Yes they do, just need to keep them clean with Unique content and right set of support links to get them indexed.
