Why spend so many time on these wheels and pyramids if direct backlinking to money site works like a charm? :)

Direct backlinking to your sites works a lot better if you backlink your backlinks... it gives the initial backlink site more link juice.

I think because that's better for long term approaches
If you want to just build a money site to spam the hell of it for a while and forget it to make more money later, then you don't need linkwheels

Mininets also works wonder for SERPS boosting

You won't get slapped using that method and the number of mini-nets would depend largely on what your competition has done in terms of backlinking and SEO.

backlinkings are very important. that is what will ultimately give you the edge over the competitors.
 
Bit confused on building the linkwheel and mini net? Wonder anyone can share a bit?
 
Create a lot of different sites (web 2.0 eg blogs, articles...) randomly interlink them over the course of a couple of weeks. keeps the blogs updated, link some back to your moneysite. Blast you web20 sites with cheap backlinks (forum profiles, blog spam...)
Thats the basic outline.
You dont want it to be structured, try to make it a big chaos, and take your time interlinking them. Dont interlink all of them. Thats what raises red flags at google.
