Once I have my site in top 10, should I keep the same link velocity that put it there? or the same link velocity my competition have?

But I wont be getting backlinks at the same rate for ever, that don't scale, even don't have sense.

I guess I should keep a similar link velocity that the top10 competitors, but I guess I will have to test

Try to keep a similar link velocity, however, just keep an eye on things.

If you stop building as many links watch what happens to your rank. If it begins to drop then up your velocity again. After a while you'll get a good understanding of how many links you need to build consistently to maintain your rank.
