Hy.

I need to create some sub domains for a website that promote a translation company that provide translation services from English to other languages and from other languages to English .

My question is what should I use to better target keywords like: "french to english translation", "english to french translation", "translation from eanglish to french".. etc..?

Code:
http://french-english-french.companyname-translation.com

or

Code:
http://french.companyname-translation.com

I will go for the first version but I'm afraid not to go in to over-optimization and I'm also afraid that the first version will get me some very long sub-domains names.

So give me your opinion on this.

Thank you

it doesn't matter. Pick the one that you like.
They are going to rank based on the authority of the domain which is companyname-translation.com
This is the reason why weebly, wordpress, tumblr, and etc rank also. The domain gives their subdomains a little weight or push in the rankings.

The subdomain keywords will barely give any push. It might not even give any.

And in this case what you will take in consideration?

Code:
http://companyname-translation.com/french-english-french-translation.html

or

Code:
http://companyname-translation.com/french-translation.html

Do you guys have more suggestions or opinion about that?

In the first case, neither.

In the second case, both. Different pages, one is specific and the other is about french translation.

Dont use subdomain google treat them differently instant choose second option

companyname-translationdotcom/french-english-french-translation.html

Do not get me wrong here, when I'm talking about the sub domain I refer at the impact for the sub domain ranking not the domain.

Any one have an opinion on that?
