Is link spamming still working in 2020 to hurt competitors ranking? What about link spamming on .wordpress domains?

isn't negative SEO - black hat stuff?

And, in the theoretical level, it should be fine, for educational purposes?

Or am I missing something?

Dunno. I think it's the same as hacking. You need to understand the principles to be able to protect yourself.

If you always trust in the morals and ethics of your competitors, a bad time is guaranteed.

I thought this forum is about black hat seo? Isn´t?

Blackhat SEO not screwing others so you can win.

And in fact your idea is a terrible one to hurt a site as that rarely works.

If you want to screw someone who is just ranking their site and have not done anything to you, and are looking for advice on how to do that, this is not the place for that. Try a dark alley in the bad section of town where you live and ask for Two Finger Louie.

I know how to outrank my competitors. There is only one .wordpress blog who´s publishing fake news about my business and I have no time to build multiple sites to oust him from the first page. Not my business if he suddenly get lost in Google. It´s more about my online reputation in this case.

Completly agree with you. But this is an online reputation case because someone is hurting my business with fake information on his blog. I know the publish and he just want to destroy my business.

Let's get on the point. One of my competitor did a same thing with me. They added spammy links and also indexed those links. But it didn't hurt my site ranking. When I saw those links in GSA I just disavow them.

Hope this answer helps you

Thanks for sharing your experience. I assume that you have a solid backlink profile so some some spammy backlinks won't effect your google ranking at all.
