Hello,
I have a old site from around 2005, there is a good amount of old backlinks that were done on http:// version of the URL a lot of old backlinks coming from high authority sites. A lot of them are still up and are being redirected to the https:// 404 page as the pages are now dead and were in html
Would it be possible to bring back those old backlinks via recreating those old html pages and redirecting them to the new https:// version? Would all those http redirects cause any harm? Some are still indexed and showing in SEMrush/Ahrefs as lost, if they are not indexed is there any chance of bringing them back or having any effect?
I read a article on the Ahrefs blog, but im not sure if the http:// would pass any juice to the new https:// redirect via 301?
Any insights or help would be much appreciated.
