What are really good effective link pyramid constructions?

I suppose at the 1st tier it'll always be web 2.0 properties and blogs with high quality content and embedded media

But what about the 2nd tier?

The most standard thing is profile backlinks I suppose and at the 3rd tier blog comments..

What have you found to work magic?

Here's what i've done recently that shot one of my medium comp keywords straight to number 1 :

Tier 1 - 10 Web 2.0's with 2x1000 word articles, embedded with 2 videos and 2 pictures in each web 2.0

Tier 2 - Those articles that i posted onto the web 2.0 sites, turn those into videos with a article 2 video converter and post to the top 10 video sites, eg, youtube etc.. each having a link towards your web 2.0s

Tier 3 - Create another 10 web 2.0's exactly like the tier 1, but this time link those to the videos as in tier 2.

Now, i blasted those tier 3 web 2.0s with the following :

Wiki links
blog comments
profile links
social bookmarks

Then - I social bookmarked those videos in tier 2 and also hit them with wiki links.

After a few days my rankings shot to number one, i was stuck on page 3, this was something i was just trying out and found to work on a medium comp keyword.

What tools do you use for that? I was looking into Ultimate Demon, but wanted to make sure I was making the right purchase.

Solid and to the point! How are you choosing to do these (services/bots/manually?)

Web 2.0's are manual and with unique content.

I use Article video robot for turning the articles into videos.

I use clyde's wiki bomber and also clyde's social bookmarking software, which are all found in the blackhat forum's buy sell threads.

Blog comments, i'm using scrapebox.

That's it really...

Surely the video tier defeats the purpose of this link pyramid as a lot of them are no follow so the juice does not pass down. Am I missing something here?
 
Thanks for sharing... which Web 2.0s did you use and did you have unique content on all of them?

Most of the links are nof0llow anyway, it means they do not pass Page Rank, but each has its impact.

Web 2.0 blogs like.. blogger, wordpress etc... Yes every web 2.0 had unique content on them. Had much more serp effect then i did using spun content.

Well that's what i would have thought myself. this was something that i was trying out and it's worked. Maybe a one off, but i had done no other backlinking to the site in over a month and then after doing this i hit top spot.

Like the guy said above, it may not pass page rank juice but could have other impacts. Link diversification seems to be working more lately...
 
Interesting... so you feel unique content for actual backlinking has more effect than spun content? I usually just go onto ezine, find an artcle, whack it through my spinrewriter and simply use that for backlinking content.

Sheesh, new content for backlinks is a pain in the ass :-)

I did exactly what you was doing, grabbing articles from ezine and spinning them, but decided to do something different and make all my tier 1's completely unique content, then used spun content for everything on tier 2's.

Ever since i've done this, i've had much better serp increases then i did with spun content on my tier 1's.

So far, i've ranked keywords 24x faster with unique content on my web 2.0's then i have using spun content.

The unique content is interesting. I have been a bit...lazy, in the past. So you just create a small, mini web2 site on a big web2 system for each keyword you're after and then send links in after? Or do you have larger sites with multiple keywords targetted?

more a less yes, it was only tested on a medium competitive keyword so far, i'm in the middle of creating a plan targeting a larger site with multiple keywords, again using unique content as the sole layer in tier 1, then the rest is going to be spun content (tier 2's, tier 3's etc...)

Will be soon testing it on a super competitive niche (finance) and see how that goes.
