    Hi Guys,

Since I've started doing SEO I've always relayed on the idea that besides a good anchor text diversity you MUST have a decent PLATFORM diversity and probably a lot of my money could've been spent better instead of trying to get links from as many different source types as possible (web 20s,socials,citations,article directories...the usual BS).

But now,I'm reading and hearing more and more people ranking their sites in let's say...medium competition niches with MINIMAL platform diversification.
For example, ranking a website with just Web 2.0s and PBNs alone,no other platform whatsoever.
Or ranking with just Social bookmarks and PBNs
Ranking with citations and pbn's only
    (yeah,pbn's are always there.)

    I mean...wtf!?
Is it worth investing into platform diversification at all?

Looking to hear some of your blackhat'ers input :saevil:

I am actually interested in what others think about this as well! :)

Personally I try to diversify it as much as possible right now, but I hear about people like you said above only doing Tumblrs + PBNs in order to rank. I mean, I could try this myself but if anyone have experience with this I wouldn't really need to do so ;)

TBH, I have never diversified my links until recently. I have always ranked long term sites using only web 2.0s and PBN links and never had a problem (apart from my PBN being discovered and reported)

I have started to diversify recently to just 'follow the crowd' as people have now drilled it into my head that platform diversity is a must (without any proof of these claims), so im now just using heavily filtered GSA projects to for anchor diversity, and the web 2.0s/PBNs for my main anchors.

It has been working well.... but so did my web 2/pbn combo

I'm not really into platform diversification. However, I do TRY to have as much unique ref domains as possible. Having 200+ links with only 4 domains - even if these are web 2.0's - is a big no-no, at least for me but at the end of the day, a link is a link. If it doesn't hurt it helps you.

It's about consistency. Diversification comes later, sometimes much later. I've ranked medium competition websites (aged 1 year domains +) with consistent content updates, anchor text diversity, keyword density around 3-5%, and push of web 2.0s, a personal PBN, with social signals pushing everything new I create.

I don't think diversification is about GAINING rank as much as it is about covering footprints and avoiding penalties.

Rank is about Authority being pushed. Penalty detection is all about pattern detection.

platform diversification can only come in handy in terms of covering footprints. It's NOT always essential in ranking sites. Is it recommended? The answer is yes.

Platform diversification while desirable, isn't necessary for a higher rank.

Platform diversity just gives you that added protection and natural flow otherwise it isn't necessary as such.

Yeah, it is important because of high traffic one might think of getting a huge amount of traffic on their own website as well.Which is actually true for many of us but not so true for everyone.
Just always keep on searching for quality websites for link building and online marketing. Create valuable useful stuff for your audience. This will ultimately add on to website authority. For Social Media do not just market your website but create relationships with your customer.

Should you diversify links for only the Tier 1 sites? Can I have all links to my tier 2 and tier 3 sites be from the same domain?

In my opinion you should diversify links on your Tier 1,but there's no reason to use 20 different platforms to do it right.
    Regarding Tier 2,definitely not!
