Instead of looking for the person who caused it, you should focus on fixing the issues and getting the website back on track.

Finding the attacker with 100% accuracy is extremely difficult technically, and in most cases impossible.

how can bad backlinks hurt you? its not like google takes them in account at all... there must be some other reason that impacted your results
