Link Farm Evolution

..... 404 Error since yesterday?!
Hey Doc,
Only if your visiting from behind a proxy on the planet Decapod 10. Try a proxy from planet earth. :)

@hun73r:
Just start out with monthly payments. VPS's are the new Gold Rush, lots of cowboys are attracted.

I'm about to buy one VPS from these 2 companies as a test. (Waiting for replies to my pre-sales questions.)
Smaller outfits though, but not riskier than the larger ones. Buying a VPS is like taking a seat at a poker or roulette table.

This guy (Robbie) knows his trade. And he also makes available his uptime/downtime stats through pingdom.com at the front page of his site.
And his VPS's are dirt cheap :

Both hangout at WHT and have sales threads there. Also nothing negative to be found about them over at WHT, and in the content that Google duplicates every day.

Once I have set up and tweaked the first one, I'll buy LFE and run it from that one. On the other one I will run the money sites that are currently down.
I will also attempt to setup remote mirroring with rsnapshot, or ribs, or rdiff on both to another VPS with more hard disk space, just in case. (I can't go ask busin3ss to reset the activation (if any) each time a VPS goes down.)

Sh.t I've done it again. Hijacked the thread. Sorry.

Just send me an email and I'll work it out on my end so you can install it on two locations.

The official site is http://linkfarmevolution.com, where did you get that URL?

I tried to send email to [email protected] but it bounced back to me. So, I'm gonna ask here:
1. Does it generate content automatically? Meaning if I insert couple of paragraphs for first blog.. would it re-write and use for others?
2. can i install mysql on my windows machine and use LFE?

hahah. we also have so many nightmare stories of vps companies. why is it so hard?

I have mostly used zensix for shared hosting and they are great for regular accounts, but wanted to try something different for VPS because the forumgenerator guys recommended them - sorry to break the seal or whatever.
but solidiboxes absolutely fucking suck. Maybe others do too. But I am used to people emailing back in a few hours if I have a question - definitely within 24 hours.
Would love to find a great vps company. any ideas?

I think you could use cloud... check them out here. cuz, u don't have to worry about bandwidth or compute cycles.
mosso.com
gogrid.com
uptimehost.com
I'm testing uptimehost.com because they give you the possibility to set anonymous nameservers. Also, Mod Rewrite/.htaccess; cURL are enabled with bunch of security features.

For VPS, I use vpsland.com and I think they have competitive pricing. I use only RDP for different tasks and i find them cool.

I will contact you this week about it. Thanks.
I hope to get the first VPS today or tomorrow. My choice of OS (Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Server Edition 32-bit.) is delaying provisioning.

Any news on this?

busin3ss, I had a question a while ago that you seem to have missed. My decision to buy LFE actually hinges on this question.

How long does it take LFE to scrape and parse 100 blogs using the SERPS function? I would be hosting LFE on a VPS.

Or maybe some other users can answer this for me?

Really thinking about purchasing this. It pretty much works like Word press Direct but with out the crazy monthly charge?

I can't tell you an exact figure, but it should be really really fast.

We will never charge a monthly fee.

I'm not ready yet.
But if you are planning on raising the price, I'm buying now and asking you to put my copy on ice until I'm ready.
Because I just moved to Rackwire this weekend. (Don't worry, I'm staying with these guys.)
(The other two I mentioned earlier were not that great after all, and they backed out asking me to install CentOS 5.3.)
I'll shoot you an email through Gmail. We already had contact once through Gmail.
(I kept my identity hidden. At that time I had problems with the full backups that Future Hosting is doing every 2 hours.)

I'm definitely buying LFE.

This is a newbie question so bare with me, but I'm really interested in learning how to use this stuff. I've seen a lot of talk about "VPS" or remote hosting solutions. The LFE website mentions that you can either install it on your own desktop, or remote hosting...

I don't really understand these things yet (in the process of researching), but I was wondering if someone could tell me the advantages of using remote hosting vs installing on your own PC? From this thread it seems that most of you are using remote hosting, so what's the difference?

The main difference is that your remote host (VPS, shared host, dedicated server) is usually always online and has better connection than your local computer.

Just paid for Link Farm Evolution and sent you guys the transaction ID. What do i need to do to get the license key and loading instructions? Cant wait to put it to use.
Thanks so much guys,
Philgood

I have a question. I purchased LFE.. but it doesn't run as fast as I would like to (can't do many threads at once). I currently have it hosted on Godaddy. I would like to switch hosting. Should I just switch to a faster shared hosting? Should I switch over to a dedicated server or is that not even worth it? (I would just be hosting LFE on there mainly). And any recommendations would be great. Thanks..

fwiw, ill probably get whacked over the head for sayin it on this thread, but forum generator by blackhatzen is another product in a similar niche thats also good for this type of stuff, again, everything supplements the others in one way or another, its not about having a brilliant single product, its about having the right combination of tools to give the best results

QFT, i bought this like two weeks ago and i love it! set it and forget it.

@busin3ss:
I'm in. Just purchased. Waiting desperately for an answer to a question which I sent to you earlier today (to the lfe email address). RSVP.
That members area looks pretty complete and well organized.

Hey busin3ss, does LFE has a "lasturl" like tag, like senuke, so it can create linkwheels ?
