Hmm..
backlinks are good, but before getting yourself listed just anywhere, pick out sites relevant to yours and find out what PR they have.. The higher the PR they have, the more you should want to be listed there! If they have a PR of 0, get away from them fast, because if youre listed on lots of 0PR sites, your sites PR will be greatly influenced by it and is likely to drop a few places (if most of you guys just care about 100's of backlinks then ignore this lol, but i don't really know an awful lot of black hat techniques yet..)

Recommend "Link Partner Finder" software which can find thousands of relevant link partner that has direct add links forum by keywords. Then analysis the PageRank value of add link page. That can help you find some relevant top PR link partners.

you can get the official google backlinks...

but not via the link command you need to login to

www . google . com / webmasters / tools


and under your site you can see the real backlinks along with a bunch of other stuff.

Linking out from your page to sites that Google doesn't like actually hurts you too. Also, Link Farms and Directories are different in that SEs like Directories (or are neutral,) but it dings you to be on a link farm.

Think of links as a giant tree. It's better to be closer to the trunk than a twig at the end of a branch. The most valuable links will come from higher PR domains within your niche.

After this update link form relevant domain are becoming more valuable. So 2 way links from non-public places may be more valuable. I am sure are most valuable if you have 2 sites in on niche.

They shouldn't be linked in any way. So when exchange links, you should give them link from your second site in this niche.
