A-B-C exchanges still work (I link to your site, you link on my site from one of your other sites), but there is always a risk of leaving footprint (all sites from your partner are usually on the same server, have the same analytics and/or adsense code, ...).

As the guy posted above. That problem happened to my old site so it got blocked from google.

Also had problems with it, so be careful with link exchange, especially with direct link exchange.
