It depends on the site and who you buy from. Ive seen people on here try to sell a single Huff link for $1000...
But I'm a contributor at these sites so it costs me $0

Buying links doe not work well. because Google will easily caught you and your site get a penalty from Google. So, focus on creating natural and organic backlink which works better. Don't use short cuts

It is helpful a lot but be mindful of where you are buying them. If you are using websites that are giving out thousands of backlinks, then it wont be much beneficial for you if not harmful. You should look for sources that are relevant and they do not have a lot of outgoing links.
