Hey everyone,

I have an arcade site with over 1200 URLs total.

What is the best way to build links to the site?

I was thinking that I can build links to every URL and use my main keywords.

So I'd spin ALL 1200 of my URLs like this:

{url 1|url 2|url 3|url 4|url 5|url 6|url 7} and have my keywords be in spun format.

So basically every URL on my site would be ranking for my main keywords....they would just be chosen arbitrarily.

So gamesite.com/sportsgame would be using {kw1|kw2|kw3}
and gamesite.com/actiongame would be using {kw1|kw2|kw3}

Any ideas? Thanks

First concentrate on HOMEpage
To gain some authority
On subpages you should concentrate on long tail keyphrases they can bring good traffic ..

For Arcade niche i would suggest you to focus only on homepage and try to monetize keywords that are not such competitive.
Its very unlikely that a visitor will search for a specific game name on google.

Well if I have 1200 URLs, I cannot generate URL specific keywords....

The 1200 URLs are mostly game URLs, other than the category URLs, homepage, about page, contact page, etc.

What you need to get ranked is not the URL-s, but your pages.

Make sure you do not keep all of the URL-s on one page, or all of the link juice is going to be diluted like a keg of beer emptied off Long Beach.

Work page by page. Like w3bmaster said, start from the home page and then go into deeper linking. You could use some service offered on our forum, to get more authority from higher PR and .edu sites. And work some links through Web2.0 sites to get an extra boost.

Then I suggest you spread the links into categories, based on game types. And start promoting those pages. Not the links as such.

i think all your 1200 pages are not on the basis of same keyword. try to rank each page against it's relevant keyword.

I'm seeing a lot of crap information in this thread.

I'm assuming:
#1. Your goal of SEOing your site is to get your traffic up
#2. The games in your arcade aren't MADE by you and are available elsewhere on line.

If that is the case, you should be blasting each page with it's GAME SPECIFIC keywords, so that you outrank other arcades with the same game. It may also help to write ~200 word original description for each game to help you rank higher (i know its work, but nobody said you can have it for free).

That immediately should push your traffic up and get a lot more people coming into your site for keywords that are probably very easy to rank for.

At this point, you've effectively created an authority site & it'll be much easier to rank your home page for your short tail keywords. At that point, direct your link building to your homepage for your short tails which should be ~5x easier now that so many of your deep pages are authorities in their own right.

Enjoy.

Good point Alejandro!

I did not pay ay attention to the fact that an arcade game site promotion has hardly any unique content to start with. My bad :o

I used to have an Arcade website but never got it to rank well.

As Alejandro mentioned, these websites are copies of 100's of others since most of the games are used on other websites..

The trick here is to make ur website as unique as possible.. add content to every game.. add lots of unique content with ur targeted keywords at an appropriate density to your homepage and each game description..

Tough job i knw, but that is the only way you can make a good profit out of your website :)

thumps up for the lnternal link building, it will work well im sure!

Put most of your efforts towards getting backlinks (authority) to your home page. It will be passed on to your other pages, and then just try to build a few, page-keyword-specific links to each inner page. It's a lot of work, but it's hard to make shortcuts in a situation like this.

.edu and .gov are the way to go....But every backlink helps.

I think you are right.
But for 1200 URLs it will tough to get a lots of .edu or .gov links.
So,at first try to build links from every type of domains.
And also first consider the URLs with its respective keywords.
