Link Building to other language Sites

Hey guys,

I am a PPC guy, I do not have much experience in SEO however I need to rank some sites in foreign languages (German mostly) for non competitive terms (for some there are pages with only 40 backlinks in the top 1 to 5 spots).

Now my question is, how valueable are backlinks when they come from English Speaking Sites. For example getting backlinks from blog submits (english speaking blogs). This is just incase I want to simply buy 200 blog submits to get on page 1 easily.

Again I know how to get 40 backlinks of German pages with my own work but I want to rank for quite a few pages quickly so that is why I am asking whether buying 200 blog submits (English speaking blogs) would do the work also.

Well they are valuable, of course German links will always be better but since you are trying to rank for non competitive keywords pretty much any link will do the trick as long as it has your anchor. The best way to go would be to get at least a few german links and then mix them with foreign links just to be safe.

Thanks very much there, it is what I thought but I wasn't entirely sure and didn't want to blast out the money for the links without getting some sort of confirmation that I was right on that.

Also, how high is the influence on the extention, like I obviously don't care of the ranking in google.com but only in google.de , does it have to be a .de or are .com's not that much less worth for that purpose? Which would u prefer, older .com's (bought over godaddy marketplace) with only part of the keyword in it OR new registered .de's with the entire keyword in it?

Well Google is sophisticated enough to recognize which audience your sites is targeting.Especially if the whole site is in German so pretty much all generic tlds should work fine for what you are trying to do. When it comes to older domains I cant really say since I never implemented that strategy but with that being said having the whole keyword in your domain is always better.
