Link building time line

I've been hearing lately that when creating back links to your site its important to pace yourself.

Apparently, if you dont, google will rank you way down in its index and it will be difficult to get back up.

How true is this? And if you do believe its true, what are the limits? How many links can I safely build on day 1 of my site launch? How many on day 5? Day 10, 30, 60, etc.

same question here, it is all about My Link building seems natural .... question is how ??

I've read reports through the years from SEO experts on both sides of the fence on this issue, which is frustrating. Overall, what is natural backlinking? It depends! I'm sure major news sites are not penalized when they receive a lot of backlinks to a hot story, so why are niche/money sites any different? Who knows...

What are the source of your backlinks? Focus on quality sites with a good PR. Use different sources of backlinks. If you're submitting to site directories, the time it will take for the webmaster to approve your submission will vary and you will not get a lot of backlinks too quickly. If you're using blogs, again, it will take time for the webmaster to approve your comment (since most bloggers manually approve comments). If you're using social bookmarking/networking sites, forums and article directories, do 5-10 submissions across several backlink platforms (blog, bookmark, etc.). Keep in mind if you're not relying soley on the backlinks for ranking, but are able to generate targeted traffic as well, you'll be able to survive the google sandbox IF that happens to your site.
