Hello everyone,

Have you change your link building strategy like when you want to rank "free wordpress plugin" then you will make anchor text free wordpress plugin... I've read articles from search engine land I do not know if you follow their recommendation for building links. Let me know if you stick on the same process or you have new strategies.. Thanks

Link Building is a waste of time. Too many factors beyond your control. If you are placing links on anything but the highest PR Pages from highly respected sites you are wasting your time. Focus on building reputation via Social if you want to have any chance of ranking.

Google is going crazy right now and nothing you do will change what they are doing. Your traffic needs to come from Social NOT Organic... because you can't get Organic. It's all paid for.

This post is a little far fetched.. of course its still possible to get traffic organically. Just have to do it in a G-friendly manner.

Something you should always put into practice, even before these new updates... to better help the look of your link profile is anchor text variation

Example, having these as your anchors:
link
{Direct link}
keyword variation 1
keyword variation 2
etc etc

I am just now learning about link building strategies. Therefore, I hadn't much to change yet. I'm glad that I get a fresh start right now regarding this.

20% links in text around your keyword but not on your keyword (for example, ?When I need business cards, I contact this company.?)

30% links that include your keyword but also include other words in a sentence (for example,?I ran out of my brand new business cards today.?)

30% links that include only your keyword (for example, ?I love my business cards.?)

20% image links

Hope this helps

The fundamental point to take from the post you read is that over-optimizing anchor text is now a big no-no. Use the suggestions listed above and mix it up so you have variations between your site URL, click here, read more etc etc. Think how you would link to another page on one of your blog posts contextually and put this in to practise when posting links back to your own page.

I do a mix of it all.
Social media, RSS, pinging, blog creation, backlinks...

Make sure you create a linkwheel that makes sense so you pass on some proper juice through-out and point to your money page.
