Link Building Strategy For 5,000+ Pages

I am having problems with one of my larger sites, which is an ecommerce director, which has over 5,000+ products/pages.

What is the best way to structure this in terms of link building or internal structure, as at the moment the inner product pages are not ranking as well as they should be.

Domain Authority is 25 - which needs to be improved, but main issue is Product Pages not ranking highly for long tail phrases. With 5,000 products, if I can get these ranking, the site will do very well.

Thoughts/advice from your expeirence please.

Make sure your internal linking is good. Break the site into logical categories and sub-categories.

Build links to the home and category pages.

Do keyword research on all product pages, put them in order of value and rankability. Then start going through one by one - perfecting the on page, adding some unique content and building a few links direct to those product pages.

Also, get a review system integrated that will show per product reviews, if you haven’t already done so. Trust pilot is one example of a service that provides that.

The true is, that just very small part of assortment giving 80% of income.
So, it's better to take special care about such assortment (urls) and you can advertise all the rest as doing it Amazon.

It's very effective method and much safer when it coming about SEO.
Because you have no chance to build links in short time which will be look natural for Google.

Also @davids355 gave you good tips, used by many people who doing onpage SEO.

You need to do Backlinks for every product page and need to write meta tags for each page with different keywords.share your content and give anchor text to your keyword.

@davids355 Has given you excellent tips in addition to those:

1) Add alt tags to images, 2) reduce images size so sites loads faster. 3) do few redirects to the homepage so all get Link juice. 4) Hire a VA to do internal links for you, as it’ll consume you lots of time to do it on self. 5) Buy some niche relevant Guest Posts and Niche Edits to boost your keywords to the top.

Once this is done make a list of the easy keywords which have high amount of searches, then keep pointing links at them you should find success if your on page seo is strong.

You could improve your texts and make these texts longer.
