Hello!
First time I've posted in here, but I've lurked every now and then.
I'm going to put a little bit of money into trying an idea I've had for a while. There's a lot of spammy sites entering my business area's top ten on Google, it's an insurance keyword and very competitive. However, spammy sites are ranking 1st and pretty much plague the top ten.
From some link analysis and research I realised what they were doing was as follows:
- Set up a quick burner site with with a goal - In my case an Insurance Quote form.
- Set up a spammy blog
- Redirect spammy blog URL to point to burner site.
- Pay for spammy links, link keyword in paid links - point this to blog url.
- Spammy blog has no danger of being fucked over by Google. If it is, set up a new blog and repeat process.
This is a basic reverse engineered finding of the sites ranking for my keywords. It seems awfully simple to do in this generation of Google (all hail white hat and good content etc etc!!) - Is there something I'm missing on this? Also does anyone have any good tips before I go ahead and attempt? Things I'm missing? Etc etc...
