You can use the trial of certain tools like gsa ser for free. that's pretty much it I think

Of Couse there are. Just create a trial account with temp email and use them with a vpn or a proxy. Once the trial is over wipe them off completely , i mean completely with an uninstaller like revo. Do this and enjoy while seo tools and uninstallers try to outperform each other or seo tool goes saas.

There are free yet valuable methods to create organic backlinks. You can find some here in this forum as well. Haven't come across a free tool that gets the job done. Looking for one itself would be a waste of time.

going with free is no way in use. just try to pay less to get some link building tools.
Many tools are offering many free services, According to my experience those free services and trial versions are more than enough to do in beginner level SEO. Obviously, you need to go for paid tools while you are trying to rank for high search volume keywords. One thing we can do is we can find the best tools at a cheap price in the market.
